“I work as a Broadcast Journalist for the BBC – my showreel can be heard here – and have done so since 2003.

The majority of my time is spent on-air at BBC Radio Leicester where I am the football commentator for Leicester City.

As well as reporting on every game I conduct interviews with playing staff and management at press conferences on a daily basis.

There are many aspects to my role which are not football specific, far from it.

Something I really look forward to is being out there in amongst a story. Whether it’s getting the thoughts of some fans before the game, making a creative package to look ahead to an event or making a beginners guide to a minority sport by going and taking part myself.

Yes I read Sport bulletins, am trained in all the legal elements of the job, which play a huge part in the role of being a broadcaster, and write and upload content for the BBC internet platform but my beliefs on good output are very simple.

I think that we should always strive to make good, strong, unique and creative content and improve every time you go on-air.

Above all else, entertain people, that’s what Sport is there to do at the same time as being able to judge the mood of the story which is unravelling in front of you.”
